These terms apply to the StopWake website and, when available, the StopWake iPhone app. Using the service means you agree to the terms relevant to your use.
1. What StopWake does
StopWake is a journey companion intended to help passengers receive distance-based reminders before a chosen stop, prepare and share journey information with trusted contacts, and access useful safety contact options.
2. Alerts are an aid, not a guarantee
Journey alerts depend on your device's location accuracy, permissions, battery and power-saving settings, notification settings and other circumstances. In tunnels, areas with poor reception or if the app stops receiving location updates, alerts may be delayed, inaccurate or not delivered.
Do not rely on StopWake as your only method of knowing when to leave a train. Check station announcements, displays and your journey independently.
3. Your journey contacts and messages
You decide who to contact and what information to share. Please choose recipients carefully, check the details in a prepared message, and confirm that the message was sent. Sharing a location snapshot is not the same as providing continuously updated live tracking. The app cannot guarantee that a recipient will receive, read or respond to a message.
4. Safety information
The app includes shortcuts that may assist you in contacting a trusted person, calling 999 or texting British Transport Police on 61016 for non-emergency railway incidents. StopWake is not an emergency service, does not monitor journeys for threats, and does not guarantee any emergency response. In immediate danger or an emergency, call 999 directly.
5. Responsible use
Use StopWake lawfully and in a way that does not endanger, harass or mislead other people. Do not interfere with the operation or security of the service, and do not use journey-sharing or messaging features to send unwanted communications.
6. Availability and updates
Features may change while StopWake is developed. We may correct errors, change design or functionality, release updates or pause features where reasonably necessary. The website's App Store button displays a development message until an official download link exists.
7. Third-party services
StopWake may depend on iOS location and messaging functions and other third-party services. Those services have their own terms, availability and privacy practices, which are outside StopWake's control.
8. Ownership
The StopWake name, website copy, branding and original application materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You must not reproduce or exploit them except where permitted by law or with permission.
9. Responsibility and liability
We aim to provide a useful, reliable app, but no travel alert, location reading or messaging feature can be completely guaranteed. You remain responsible for decisions made during your journey. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, nor does it affect any mandatory statutory rights you have.

11. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
